Becoming an OAI member

OpenAirInterface (OAI) is an open-source platform used worldwide for the development, integration, and experimentation of mobile network technologies.
The OpenAirInterface Software Alliance (OSA) was established to support the long-term development of the platform and coordinate the ecosystem around it. The Alliance brings together companies, research organizations, and universities working with OAI for research, innovation, and technology validation.
OAI serves as an open-source reference implementation of 3GPP-based systems, enabling experimentation, prototyping, and demonstration in both research and industrial environments.
Through the support of its members, the Alliance maintains the core development of the platform and ensures its continued evolution and availability.

Why become a member?

OAI provides a collaborative framework for organizations working on 5G systems and future network technologies.
OAI can be used for:

Research and experimentation on 5G and future network technologies

Development and validation of Open RAN and cloud-based network architectures

Rapid prototyping and integration of new features

Testing and demonstration of new use cases.

Membership provides the opportunity to contribute to the platform’s evolution and engage with its community. Members benefit from direct interaction with the OAI development team experts for technical support and guidance. Member organizations are also invited to participate in the regularly held OAI events (workshops, webinars, etc.).

The role of the members

Members support the sustainability and continued development of the OAI platform.

By becoming a member, your organization helps the Alliance to:

  • Support a core team of full-time engineers responsible for the maintenance and evolution of the OAI software
  • Allocate the resources required for development, integration, and testing activities
  • Maintain and improve the quality, reliability, and coverage of the code

How to join?

Companies, SMEs, startups, universities, and research institutes can join the Alliance through different membership categories.
