Navid received his PhD degree in Communication Systems from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Lausanne. His work is in the area of real-time wireless networking protocols and architectures, as well as 4G and 5G technology enablers such as SDN, NFV, MEC, and the cloud. He is coordinating the mosaic-5g.io initiative, which provides a software-based 4G/5G service delivery platform on top of the OpenAirInterface communication infrastructure.

Navid has a proven track record in managing experimental system research projects at an international level. He oversees R&D activities at the OSA in both RAN and CN domains.

Navid serves as a board member of the OSA.
