Christian Bonnet

Prof. Christian Bonnet began his career in programming domain languages. He participated in defining the programming language ADA and implementing the first European ADA compiler at ALSYS. He joined GSI-TECSI in 1983 as a consultant, working on various radio communication systems, value-added networks, and real-time systems projects.

In 1987, he was appointed Director of the Real-Time Department at GSI-TECSI and was responsible for European R&D IST projects (DESCARTES, DRAGON, REX). He later served as Head of the Mobile Communications Department at EURECOM for over a decade before playing a key role in establishing the OpenAirInterface Software Alliance (OSA). He served as the first President of OSA before retiring in 2018.

Professor Bonnet was named Honorary President in recognition of his contributions to OpenAirInterface since its embryonic phase in the late 1990s at EURECOM and for his services as the Founding President of the OpenAirInterface Software Alliance.
