Abstract: The F1 and E1 splits are components of the O-RAN RAN architecture, empowering a single CU-CP to manage multiple DUs and CU-UPs efficiently. Before joining the team, Robert obtained a Ph.D. in communications from Sorbonne University, France. Then, he worked at the Communication Systems Department of Eurecom (France) on the topic of Software-Defined Radio Access Networks and RAN Slicing. During this time, he was involved in collaborative research projects and an active contributor to the OpenAirInterface and Mosaic5G projects.

Robert now works for the OpenAirInterface Software Alliance, where he focuses on the development and testing of the 5G RAN stack.
