Beijing Univeristy of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), on behalf of OSA and Open5G lab (cofounded by Eurecom and BUPT), presented a demo of 5G network slicing orchestration and management system in ITU SG13. Network slices can be easily designed and created in the slicing O&M system. Based on virtualized infrastructure, two OAI enabled LTE slices were created and tested during the demonstration. By introducing the network slicing O&M system, operators can largely reduce their CAPEX and OPEX, and meanwhile, promote the usage efficiency of hardware infrastructures. Prof. Alex Galis, vice chair of the ITU-T FG on Future Networking, commented, “This work is very impressive, I extremely expect to see it implemented in operators network!”
