Biot, 5th September, 2019: The OpenAirInterfaceTM Software Alliance (OSA) is happy to announce that InterDigital® has decided to take the level of its engagement with the OSA a step further by deciding to take a seat at the Alliance as Strategic Member.

InterDigital® shifting gears and taking position on the Alliance’s Strategic Board is great news for the OSA and the entire OpenAirInterface Community and is testimony of the value OSA creates for its members. The company has already been an Associate Member of the Alliance for the last two years and has been closely working with the OAI team on a multitude of high-end 5G topics like mmW and beam steering that were demonstrated at Mobile World Congress Barcelona in 2018 and 2019.

The greater engagement of InterDigital will further strengthen the Alliance’s vision of accelerating innovation in the wireless industry and will bring new innovative topics on the roadmap of the OAI. We are looking forward to greater collaboration whereby new technologies developed by InterDigital will be prototyped and showcased using the OpenAirInterface stack. Proof-of-concepts of these cutting-edge technologies will in turn go a long way toward showing their viability and adoption across the industry.
