The 5G Innovation Center at the University of Surrey, UK today joined the OpenAirInterface Software Alliance as Associate Member.

We at the alliance believe that this association will allow the two most influential research centres, Eurecom in France and the 5GIC in the UK to collaborate to build the future of 5G systems using the OpenAirInterfaceTM  as tool for further demonstrating new concepts in 5G. Eurecom is the founding member of the OSA.

The mission of the OpenAirInterfaceTM Software Alliance (OSA) is to provide software and tools for 5G Wireless Research and Product Development.  Established in 2014, the OSA is a non-profit organization funded by corporate sponsors.

The OSA creates value for the telecoms industry in these times of change by playing role of accelerating and democratizing wireless innovation by promoting networks using Open Source Software and Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) hardware.
